Poem with No Moon

Olivia Stowell

the right place for it
is sky, where it belongs

he says he’s become
his own worst enemy—
someone who can’t relax
without everything in its place

but he unsticks that white eyelash
from sky
and drags it
into my poetry

blows it off his fingertip
leaving me with wishes

and early morning
with no light.
